Downtown’s Lyric Market switches up its restaurant curators

Lyric Market, the sprawling new food hall coming to the city’s Theatre District, is no longer working with Clark Cooper Concepts, the Houston restaurant group tapped to help pick out the market’s tenants. Lyric Market’s press reps said in a statement:

Lyric Market, the multi-concept culinary destination in Houston’s Theater District, has parted ways with local restaurant group Clark Cooper Concept[s].

With more than 20 “best in class” food and retail vendors from all over the world, Owner Jonathan Enav, president and CEO of Houston-based US Property Management, has partnered with nationally acclaimed Colicchio Consulting. Their expertise in food hall consulting across the country will provide unparalleled direction and support for LyricMarket and its vendors. We are very excited to be working with them to offer Houstonians a diverse culinary marketplace and immersive destination.

Austin pizzeria Bufalina pops up next week

Try essential Austin Neapolitan pizzeria Bufalina, which is popping up next week in Houston. Bufalina will be firing pizzas on a portable wood-fired oven at Light Years Natural Wine Shop and Bar on Wednesday, May 15 from 6:00 p.m. until the pizzas are sold out. Find five or six different pies to choose from, and of course, plenty of wine will be available as well.

More details emerged about Railway Heights market

Check out a rendering of Railway Heights, the upcoming food hall from the restaurateurs behind Bravery Chef Hall. Details on NextSeed fund raising site indicate that Railway Heights will include a wine bar, beer garden, and a weekly farmer’s market.

Johnny’s Gold Brick Crowned Bar Fight Club Champions 2019

Houston’s own Johnny’s Gold Brick claimed bragging rights at Chicago’s Bar Fight Club 2019 competition, one of James Beard Foundation Awards official after-parties. Challenged alongside six bar teams from across the country to recreate their own bars, a panel of judges picked Johnny’s Gold Brick (Houston) as the night’s Bar Fight Club Champions with a prize involving a trip to London. Austin’s Nickel City snagged the people’s choice prize.
