Beloved Houston taco truck Tacos Tierra Caliente has officially expanded to a permanent outpost called Taco Stop that recently opened its doors inside a Heights Exxon station.
A tipster pointed Eater in the direction of the new shop inside the Market at Heights Exxon at 1535 North Durham Drive. “Tacos Tierra Caliente, the famous Houston taco truck located at West Alabama and McDuffie across the West Alabama Ice House is proud to bring their tacos to the Heights,” reads a sign posted to the wall. “Taco Stop will serve the same delicious tacos which have served Houstonians for years!”
In addition to the classic fajita beef, lengua, and barbacoa tacos, Taco Stop also serves a full menu of breakfast tacos, tortas, and croissant sandwiches. Grilled shrimp and fish tacos are also on the menu, along with six different chicken options and tacos al pastor. Perhaps most importantly, the excellent salsa verde found at the truck also appears to be on offer at the permanent location.
