Dogs Will Be Welcome at Brian Ching’s Upcoming EaDo Neighborhood Bar

The Houston Dynamo legend reveals his new project, East End Backyard

Last year, former Houston Dynamo forward Brian Ching opened a soccer fan’s fantasy beer garden (complete with indoor soccer field!) at Pitch 25 Beer Park, which debuted in June 2018. Now Ching is readying his second bar in East Downtown neighborhood, and this one’s going to be the ultimate backyard party.

East End Backyard is slated to open this fall at 1105 Sampson St., with investment opportunities available now via funding site NextSeed. The bar will boast a 20,000 square foot patio and a community garden where bartenders will be able to pick fresh ingredients for cocktails. There will be room for events with lawn games, performances from local musicians and food trucks — and this bar is going to be very dog-friendly.

“I’ve watched the EaDo neighborhood change dramatically since I joined the Dynamo in 2006,” Ching said in a press release. “One of the downsides to a lot of the new townhouses that are being built is that people don’t have any outdoor space for themselves or their pets. We wanted to create somewhere in the area people could go to socialize in an affordable, laidback environment, and enjoy the benefits of having a backyard even if they don’t own one themselves. We want this to feel like the biggest backyard in Houston.”
