The Cali import for salads and sandwiches, Mendocino Farms, will open the first of four local outposts in Rice Village next month.

As Eater previously reported, the Los Angeles-based sandwich shop plans to blanket Space City with its healthy fare — an Uptown Park outpost will open this fall, followed by a location at The Star in Downtown this winter, and then another opening in the Heights in 2020.

The Rice Village store throws open its doors on Thursday, July 18, serving up a bevy of lunch-appropriate dishes like an Italian-style hoagie, turkey club, tuna melt, pork belly banh mi, plus interesting salads like an avocado and quinoa superfood mix and greens topped with chicken and prosciutto. The eatery sources ingredients from regional farms with humanely raised meats including pork, chicken, and turkey that are free from hormones and antibiotics.

Medocino Farms will open at 11 a.m. on July 18. Stay tuned for the opening dates of its three other outposts.
