Base is the newest addition to Houston’s nightlife scene

Club hopping in Houston now includes an elevator ride to the hidden-away basement bar Base, which opened recently. Per the Houston Chronicle, the weekend-only speakeasy-esque bar with bottle service is from the Concepts To Fruition group. Head downstairs via elevators at the Henry Henke Building at 801 Congress to find Base’s dance floor illuminated by a ceiling covered with lights.

A chef from NYC’s Café Boulud is Houston-bound

CultureMap Houston reports that Café Boulud executive chef Aaron Bludorn is opening up his own restaurant in Houston with the approval of famed chef Daniel Boulud. Bludorn tells the publication he’s planning “a modern French-American restaurant in a polished and charismatic setting.”
