It’s practically confirmed that point guard Russell Westbrook will don a Houston Rockets jersey next season, and the former Oklahoma City Thunder star surfaced at Galleria-area restaurant Prospect Park on Monday.
Westbrook was spotted in a photo shared to Prospect Park’s Instagram account, hanging out at the restaurant with fellow baller Kendrick Perkins and Prospect Park owner Rob Wright. The Houston Rockets have still yet to confirm Westbrook’s trade to the team, but according to SB Nation, it’s all but a done deal.
Houston restaurant mogul Tilman Fertitta found himself in a bit of hot water with regard to welcoming Westbrook to the city. Fertitta’s comments to the media earned the Landry’s mogul a $25,000 fine from the NBA for talking to media about the trade before it was finalized. Perhaps that’s why Fertitta didn’t take Westbrook out for a celebratory dinner at one of his Houston-area restaurants.
