Next year, the chef in charge of Katy’s finest sushi restaurant will open Kanau Sushi, a new raw fish destination in Midtown.
The restaurant is set to make its debut in early 2020 at Midtown Houston’s high-rise Drewery Place development. Per a press release, the restaurant will occupy a 2,000 square foot space inside the development, which also houses Earthcraft Juicery. “Our vision for Kanau Sushi is to create an experiential ambience for our guests, where food, art, colors and structure come together,” Lim said in a statement.
Scope out these renderings of the sleek space below:

Like Tobiuo, Lim’s much-acclaimed Katy restaurant, Kanau Sushi will serve top-notch fruits of the sea, ranging from flights that encourage diners to taste the subtle differences between different types of uni to the “tuna breakdown,” a service that involves Lim breaking down a massive bluefin tuna into sashimi and other dishes. Expect some French influence on the menu, too, in a selection of “small cold dishes.”
Stay tuned for Kanau Sushi’s official opening date.
