Musaafer starts staffing up

Originally expected to arrive in 2019, long-awaited Galleria Indian restaurant Musaafer is gearing up for a 2020 debut. A post to the restaurant’s Facebook page indicates that it is currently hiring kitchen staff and servers, and will host interviews for interested applicants on January 13. Stay tuned for an official opening date.

Theo’s departs Montrose

Theo’s a stalwart breakfast spot in Montrose, has officially closed its doors. According to CultureMap, the restaurant served its final Greek-inflected plates on Sunday, January 5. The space formerly known as Theo’s is currently being redeveloped into a mixed-use development called the Montrose Collective.

Toronto chef Scott Vivian heads to Houston

Known for his Toronto restaurant Beast and an appearance on Iron Chef Canada, chef Scott Vivian will hit Houston for a guest chef dinner at Riel this weekend. Per a press release, Vivian will join chef Ryan Lachaine for the Booze Can Sundays series at Riel, which pairs a guest chef with live art and music. Per a press release, the chef’s famed biscuit sandwiches will touch down in Houston on Sunday, January 12 starting at 3 p.m.
