After rising to fame on the Real Housewives of Atlanta and opening multiple locations in its home state of Georgia and beyond, the Original Hot Dog Factory will open a Houston location.
The hot dog chain announced its plans to head to Houston in an Instagram post in December, and a tipster tells Eater that it’s set to take over the space at 920 Studemont Street, Suite 300, that was formerly occupied by Sushi Tora inside the Shops at Memorial Heights. The restaurant is the brainchild of former Arizona Cardinals fullback Dennis McKinley, who’s currently in a (decidedly messy) relationship with Real Housewives star Porsha Williams.
In Atlanta, the Original Hot Dog Factory has earned tons of fans for its creatively topped dogs, which Eater Atlanta considers among the best in the city. Options like the Detroit Coney (a beef hot dog topped with chili, shredded cheese, and chopped onions) and the L.A. Dog, a bacon-wrapped wiener that comes showered in chili-cheese fries and grilled onions await. Chicken wings, grilled chicken sandwiches, burgers, and corn dogs are also on offer.
No word yet on when the Houston location is set to open, but the space is currently under construction. Stay tuned for an update.
