It is, finally, Election Day. Lines may be long, and voting might look different this year thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, but many Houston bars and eateries are continuing a longstanding tradition of offering free drinks and bites to those who vote.
It’s worth noting that it is technically against the law for establishments to offer free food and drinks to people who vote. However, restaurants can legally get around that by opening up the offers to everyone, even those without “I Voted” stickers. For those who do intend to vote this year, be sure to make a plan a head of time, check HarrisVotes.com for polling places and estimated wait times, and then hit up one of the Houston-area bars and eateries to reward yourself.
