Home Slice Pizza, one of Austin’s most popular pizzerias, is getting closer to opening up in Houston. News broke in September 2019 that the restaurant known for its New York-style slices would expand to Houston with a location in Midtown.
This will be the first restaurant outside of Austin for Home Slice, which just signed a lease at 3701 Travis Street near the Continental Club and Mid Main Lofts. The plan is to open Home Slice Pizza’s Houston location in early 2021.

This is a big opening for co-founder of Home Slice Pizza Joseph Strickland, who grew up in Sharpstown. “Midtown is evolving into the most walkable, dense neighborhood in Houston, making it a perfect fit for the Home Slice brand, which is rooted in the pizzerias and slice joints of NYC,” Strickland said in a release. “I am personally thrilled to be part of the team bringing Home Slice to my hometown.”

Expect to find thin crust, hand-tossed pizza topped with the likes of pepperoni and mushroom or white clams or meatballs. Subs, salads, and desserts will also be on the menu, along with beer and Italian wine.
