After nearly two years in the works, DFW-based celebrity chef Tim Love will finally bring his take on barbecue, burgers, and pizza to Levy Park in Upper Kirby.
A representative for the chef tells Eater that Love is set to debut his barbecue spot Woodshed Smokehouse and burger restaurant Love Shack at Levy Park in “mid-March,” though no official date has been set just yet. Scope out details on each spot below:
- Woodshed Smokehouse — An offshoot of the Fort Worth original that will occupy an upscale, sit-down space with glass-walled facade. Look forward to smoky brisket burgers, bulgogi beef tacos, and of course, brisket and ribs served by the pound.
- Love Shack — A casual burger destination that’s known for its over-the-top options like the Dirty Love burger, which involves a burger patty, “Love Sauce,” bacon, cheese, and a fried quail egg.
In addition to the two previously announced restaurants, Love is also set to open a mobile eatery called Side Dough, which will sling pastries, breakfast tacos, and coffee drinks from a 1973 double-decker bus that’s located in the park. It’s similar to Back Dough, the to-go window that Love opened at his Denton steakhouse Queenie’s in 2016.
For those who are unfamiliar with chef Tim Love, he’s been a fixture of food reality TV since 2007, when he appeared on Iron Chef America. He operates multiple restaurants in DFW and beyond, including outposts of his famed Lonesome Dove Bistro in Fort Worth and Austin, and Italian newcomer Gemelle, which was just named to Texas Monthly’s list of the state’s best new restaurants.
Stay tuned for more details on the official opening dates for Woodshed Smokehouse, Love Shack, and the Side Dough.
