Dipped Hot Pot, a new suburban destination for simmering pots of broth stuffed with proteins and veggies, has quietly made its debut in Sugar Land.

The new restaurant is currently in its “soft opening” phase at 13513 University Boulevard, Suite 300, according to its Facebook page. Unlike all-you-can-eat restaurants boasting endlessly customizable hot pots, which have proliferated across Houston in recent years, Dipped focuses on serving “personalized” versions of the dish made with a set flavor profile and proteins.

Dipped’s menu currently boasts nine different types of hot pot options, including a Malaysian laksa bowl with oyster mushrooms, fish cakes, napa cabbage, and tofu in a “creamy spicy aromatic broth,” and a curry bowl that’s topped off with sea salt foam. Starter dishes include Taiwanese popcorn chicken served with chili sauce, chili-garlic cucumbers, and fried mushrooms.

Right now, Dipped Hot Pot is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
