Eater Houston is hiring an associate editor to help cover the city’s massive and constantly changing dining scene.

Eater Houston is searching for someone that’s available to work part-time, preferably in the morning, writing for Eater on a daily basis. The Associate Editor will work directly with Eater Houston editor to write, report, and edit news stories, features, maps, and more on a daily basis. The associate editor will also have the opportunity to write feature-length stories and contribute photography.

Candidates for the Associate Editor position should have strong reporting skills, and experience in writing news for an online publication. Familiarity with content management systems and social media is essential. Experience in photography is an added bonus, as is knowledge of Google Apps and Photoshop. Note: this job does not involve writing restaurant reviews of any kind.

The part-time Associate Editor role is perfect for freelancers with flexible schedules, and you’ll be able to work from home while keeping tabs on news stories. Candidates must be available during normal business hours, and morning availability is preferred.
