Days after owners Lynn and Nakia Price announced that they would expand their famed Almeda Road restaurant, the Turkey Leg Hut has plans for yet another mobile eatery in Houston.

Joining the original Third Ward restaurant and a Galleria-area food truck, the Turkey Leg Hut’s newest food truck will debut at 10811 Veterans Memorial Drive, parked in front of Sugar Rush Cake Gallery. The truck will be open on the weekends, starting at 11 a.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, slinging stuffed turkey legs, Cajun bowls stuffed with crawfish mac and cheese and grilled shrimp, and more.

The Turkey Leg Hut is, despite the coronavirus pandemic, in major growth mode right now. The Prices just received approval to add more than 1,000 square feet of space to the always-packed restaurant on Almeda Road. They’ve also got Daiquiri Hut and Breakfast Hut in the works for Third Ward, along with the much-anticipated Savoy Urban Beer Garden.

The Turkey Leg Hut’s newest food truck arrives in Northside on April 10. Keeping social distancing guidelines in mind, diners are encouraged to call in orders in advance, and wait in their vehicles until their order is ready.
