Two of Chris Shepherd’s Houston restaurants will reopen for dine-in service this weekend.
One Fifth and unconventional steakhouse Georgia James will both open at 50 percent capacity starting on Friday, May 22. One Fifth reopened for takeout and curbside only earlier this month, serving menu favorites from the restaurant’s short tenure as a Mediterranean spot.
Along with standard measures being taken by most restaurants to mitigate the spread of Covid-19, One Fifth and Georgia James will also add 4-foot-wide by 50-inch glass partitions between tables to separate parties in the dining room.
For the time being, Shepherd’s other restaurants, UB Preserv and the Hay Merchant, will remain closed for dine-in service. However, UB Preserv will be selling take-out kits including a brunch option and a “tour of Houston cuisine.” The Hay Merchant is Underbelly Hospitality’s main hub for building the chef’s Take and Bake meals currently for sale at HEB. It will also continue to offer curbside service while the dining room is closed.
Menus and hours for all four restaurants can be found on Underbelly Hospitality’s website.
