Proper Rose Garden, a new destination for desserts, teas, and snacks, has officially debuted dragon-shaped, ice cream stuffed taiyaki in Katy.

The new shop just arrived at 1223 Grand West Boulevard, Suite B105, in Katy, and its take on the traditional Japanese dessert is wholly unique. “When we were thinking of our menu, we knew we had to include taiyakis on it, but we also wanted to stand out from the crowds of stores already doing taiyaki,” a rep for Proper Rose Garden tells Eater. “That’s when one of our partners drew Duke, the dragon that had too many taiyakis and became one.”

Dubbed “dragonyaki,” the Duke-shaped cone is stuffed with custard or scoops of matcha and red bean ice cream. The dessert menu at Proper Rose Garden also includes fluffy Japanese-style souffle pancakes, milk tea cake, and Oreo cheesecake. A massive selection of teas, ranging from Thai iced tea to hot pots of Jinxuan oolong, is on offer, along with savory snacks like popcorn chicken, parmesan-garlic fries, and tamago sandwiches.

Proper Rose Garden is now open Monday through Sunday from noon to 8 p.m., and is closed on Tuesdays. The shop is currently offering dine-in service, along with takeout.
