Bleached-blonde celebrity chef Guy Fieri has brought Flavortown to Houston with a handful of ghost kitchens serving the star’s signature over-the-top eats, all available for delivery in the Bayou City.
The three locations of Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Kitchen, in Houston and surrounding burbs, serve up everything from bacon mac and cheese burgers to Cajun chicken alfredo to super melty cheesesteak egg rolls. Nothing is more than $15, and the restaurant says that many of the meals are meant to be shared, making a trip to Flavortown an affordable option for dinner at home.
The ghost kitchen concept allows Fieri to test the Houston market without the high overhead of building a full-blown restaurant. The Buffalo Speedway location of the ghost kitchen operates out of a Buca de Beppo just south of Highway 69. A CityCentre location operates out of the kitchen of a Brio Italian Grille, and a Woodlands location appears to be in an otherwise unoccupied warehouse next to a Crossfit gym.
Guy Fieri isn’t the only celebrity to open a ghost kitchen restaurant in Houston recently, either. Over the holidays, Christmas songbird Mariah Carey launched a pop-up cookie delivery restaurant in the Bayou City. And last summer, rapper Wiz Khalifa’s stoner-themed ghost restaurant, Hotbox, landed in Houston, with dishes like a “Blazed Ends” brisket and “Mile High” brownie.
Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Kitchen is available for delivery-from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Kitchen has its own app for placing delivery orders, available on both iTunes and the Google Play store, and the restaurant also delivers through DoorDash, Postmates, and UberEats.
