Beloved South Korean bakery chain Paris Baguette, known for its decadent desserts and top-notch French pastries, will soon open its doors in Houston.
A representative for the chain tells Eater that the first Houston outpost of Paris Baguette is currently under construction at 1400 Blalock Road in Spring Branch. It’s the first of possibly many locations of the bakery in Houston — the representative declined to comment on exactly how many Paris Baguette locations were in the works for Houston, but did note that the company “plans to open more in the near future.”
Founded in 1988 in South Korea, Paris Baguette now operates locations all over the world, including restaurants in Vietnam and Singapore. The chain recently announced plans for a significant expansion in North Texas — according to Eater Dallas, Paris Baguette has as many as 20 locations in the works for the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. That could point to an equally massive expansion in Houston.
As far as the food is concerned, expect beautifully decorated cakes and pastries, macarons, sandwiches stuffed with crab salad or ham and cheese, and freshly baked breads. Fans of the bakery also praise its flaky croissants and castella cake. Smoothies, juices, lattes, and other coffee drinks that make for obvious pastry pairings are also on the menu.
Paris Baguette has not yet announced a timeline for its Houston arrival — stay tuned for an opening date.
