Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson dines at Thirteen, leaves an enormous tip

Over the weekend, former professional football player and TV personality Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson dined at former Houston Rockets player James Harden’s Houston restaurant, leaving a seriously massive tip for the restaurant’s staff. Per a press release from a rep for Thirteen, Ochocinco tipped a whopping $1,300 on his $107 bill, a nod to Harden’s jersey number, and challenged the former Rocket’s skills in soccer video game FIFA ‘21.

Houston Restaurant Weeks plots a 2021 comeback

Houston Restaurant Weeks, the annual dining out bonanza that’s also raised millions of dollars for the Houston Food Bank, will return in 2021. According to a press release, Houston Restaurant Weeks will kick off on August 1 and run through Labor Day with brunch, lunch, and dinner options priced from $20 to $49. Reservations open up on July 15, at which time diners will be able to begin browsing the menus of participating restaurants on the Houston Restaurant Weeks website.

For the second year in a row, the event will be produced by the Cleverley Stone Foundation, an organization founded in honor of the Houston Restaurant Weeks originator and frequent fixture of the city’s dining scene. Stone’s daughter Katie is now in charge of the event.
