Cougar fans, take note — Third Ward staple and celebrity magnet the Turkey Leg Hut will soon debut its newest location inside the University of Houston’s TDECU Stadium.
The new food stand will make its debut next week on the University of Houston campus, just in time for football season. The famed smoked turkey legs, beloved by everyone from Snoop Dogg to Kevin Hart, will be sold during game days at co-founder Nakia Price’s alma mater. According to a release, Price played on the college’s basketball team and describes the Turkey Leg Hut’s latest outpost as like “coming full circle.”
“I played basketball at UH and went to so many football games here,” Price said in a statement. “I can’t wait to bring a game-day food experience like no other to the Coogs’ House this season.”
The Turkey Leg Hut’s famed smoked turkey legs, stuffed with dirty rice and shrimp alfredo, among other decadent fillings will be on offer inside TDECU Stadium, along with bowls of dirty rice or crawfish mac and cheese topped with blackened salmon, Cajun shrimp, and alfredo sauce.
The Turkey Leg Hut will make its debut inside the University of Houston’s TDECU Stadium on September 18, which means that fans can score the Hennessy-glazed turkey legs as they watch the Coogs take on the Grambling State University Tigers.
