No place conveys “craft cocktail” quite like this Montrose staple. The “100 List” at Anvil began as a staff training guide detailing the 100 classic cocktails that every bartender should know. The entire list is half-off during happy hour including the Bees Knees which clocks in at $4.50; it’s a prohibition era cocktail made with gin, lemon, honey, and served chilled. Try it Monday through Friday, 4 to 5 p.m.

In Houston, obviously Tex-Mex reigns supreme. For a decidedly different twist on a south-of-the-border staple, newly-opened Night Heron adds vanilla, tarragon, and a dash of egg whites for a truly smooth finish to the salty lime original. Grab one for $5, Monday through Friday 2 to 6 p.m.

Eight Row Flint, a place better known for whiskey, does things a little differently by pairing Barton Bourbon with Deep Eddy peach vodka to give their mule a Southern twist, all for $5. Get it Monday through Friday, 2 to 6 p.m.
