After a long day at work, there’s nothing better than bellying up to the bar for cheap booze and snacks during happy hour. Everyone has their favorite haunt, but Houston is replete with excellent happy hours, which means that it’s time to branch out.

This list has been updated to include happy hour deals from restaurants and bars, including the Blue Sushi Sake Grill, Uchiko, the Ready Room, and Postino Woodlands.

The smoky sister restaurant of Uchi, Uchiko offers a daily happy hour from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., with deals on nigiri and maki, plus heartier bites like grilled shishito peppers, pork belly, and wagyu short rib. Like at Uchi, wine and sake are discounted during happy hour here, but with its full bar program, Uchiko offers specials on cocktails, too.

Happy hour at Hugo’s is a solid way to get a sampling of the acclaimed restaurant’s bites and beverages. From 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, house favorites like the Hugo Rita, chicken taquitos, and ceviche are under $10. As if the buzzy vibe around the bar at Doris Metropolitan during happy hour isn’t reason enough to venture in, getting a taste of the decadent Doris burger, available Monday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Tuesday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., surely is.
