An enduring Houston icon, drive-thru margarita bars are a Space City tradition. Sometimes, a margarita is immediately required, and these cheap, sugary slushies make it happen in the easiest way possible.

The legality of driving with booze in the car is a tight line to walk, and these Houston-area drive-thru daiquiris each tackle the issue in different ways. Most of the time,a piece of Scotch tape stuck over the top of the straw hole of the cup is used to "seal" the container, and other times, you'll pour the booze yourself (via tiny bottles) into a giant cup of slush for the perfect mix.

Use this map as a guide to the city's booziest drive-thru gems, serving up gallon-sized frozen drinks, margs garnished with sour gummies, and so much more. Drinking and driving is definitely still illegal, so wait until you're parked to enjoy these boozy slushy delights.

Unlike some of the other spots on this list, Chacho’s has an actual Mexican restaurant inside that some consider to be a Houston staple. The pina coladas here are perfectly strong, and Chacho’s is open 24 hours, which makes it a super popular spot for late night drunchies.

Jell-O shots here are served in literal giant shot injection vessels. Enough said. If that's (somehow) not appealing, go for one of the cheekily-named boozy slushies, like the Swamp Water (hurricane flavored slush with green apple) or a frozen rum & coke.

W Grill Margaritas To-Go

W Grill Margaritas To Go serves their margaritas in five sizes. The granddaddy of them all is the Texas Size – get one gallon of traditional lime, peach, passionfruit, or raspberry margarita for $45.99. For folks who prefer their drinks on the rocks, W Grill has those too.

The Eskimo Hut

This mini chain knows how to spice up the weekdays – Tuesdays are “Triple Shot Tuesdays” and Wednesdays are “Double Shot Wednesdays.” Add all that extra booze to a Fuzzy Memory (cherry, peach & mango) or a Crimson Tide (hurricane punch mixed with grape) for the most potent kind of brain freeze.

Examples of drink names here include the Leg Spreada (passionfruit), Thug Passion (cherry, strawberry, raspberry & Mai Tai mix) and Back Dat Ass Up (strawberry, banana, pina colada), so pick your poison accordingly and probably leave the kids at home.
