Over the past couple of years, the area surrounding Houston’s massive Galleria mall has transformed into an actual dining destination. The mall itself is home to a Michelin-recommended dim sum restaurant, Shake Shack, and a slew of exciting openings coming this summer, and even more excellent eateries around the Galleria make it worth venturing outside the loop.

The Post Oak Hotel at Uptown Houston

Houston rockets owner and mega restaurateur Tilman Fertitta’s Post Oak Hotel is the definition of glamorous. Visit Mastro’s Steakhouse for aged porterhouse and New York strips, or head over to Bloom & Bee where an elegant, floral space makes it a destination for ladies who lunch. Don’t forget to grab a few pastries on the way out.
